writing coaching for designers
for architects and designers
Do you need help finding the right words for your design work? You have come to the right place.
ABOUT YOU
IF YOU ARE FOCUSED ON THE CHALLENGE OF EXPRESSING YOUR WORK IN WRITING, AND HAVE STRUGGLED WITH THIS AS A PRIMARILY VISUAL PERSON, THIS IS FOR YOU.
You may consider yourself a seasoned designer, but definitely not a writer.
You may be building your practice early-career stage, mid-career and seeking to expand, or at the point of imminent succession planning. In any case, you need to find words to express your projects, processes, products and your people and what they do.
You have active projects, and you need to be deeply creative every day. But words are a challenge.
ABOUT ME
I have graduate qualifications in Design and Architecture, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sustainability & Environmental Design. I have completed post-graduate study in Digital Communications Strategy, and I have a Certificate in Business Coaching.
I taught design at RMIT University and the University of Melbourne for more than a decade and have jointly run a successful Design Studio for 13 years. In that time I have worked with non-profits across Australia and the United Kingdom, in particular tackling solutions for homelessness and the housing crisis with creativity, empathy & insight.
I have written a book entitled “How to Write About Design (and Why You Should)”. Find out about the book here.
I created Baumgart Coaching as a way of sharing the lessons of nearly 30 years of published writing practice. I love nothing more than articulating ideas for myself, or on behalf of others.
